Hello to Katelyn, a new Junior Ambassador! Katelyn dances with WTA Dance Studios. She does Irish dancing and lots of other dance styles too! Read all about Katelyn below and check out some sparkling photos from her introductory photoshoot!

What style/styles of dance do you do?

I started off doing Irish Dancing when I was 4 years old. I have always loved every style of dance and my mum owns the studio where I train, but I properly started training in Acro Lyrical Jazz & Commercial a little over a year ago. I dance 5 days a week now and compete most weekends (well not so much now because of Covid).

Can you tell us a bit about your dance training? Where do you do your dance classes?

I train at WTA Dance Studio in Templeogue. I'm so lucky that dancing runs in my family. My mum and my aunty own the studio and teach me! The studio is my second home! I train Irish Dance for 6 hours weekly, Acro for 2 hours and Lyrical for 4 hours. Jazz and Commercial I take as recreational classes so I do one hour of each per week. I love every second of all my classes!

What is your favourite thing about dance and being a dancer?

My favourite thing about dancing is the friends I have made, in the studio but also from all over the world. No matter what they are always there for me and cheering me on. I love being a dancer because of how it makes me feel. No matter what’s going on I always feel good when I'm in the studio.

What is your favourite Dance World product and why?

My Favourite dance world products are my leotards! I adore them. I wear them every day. Everyone always compliments them and my matching scrunchies! I especially love the sets with matching shorts.

What part of being a Dance World ambassador are you most excited for?

Shauna is one of my teachers and she was Dance World Ambassador for the first year. What I was most excited about was following in her footsteps. I was excited to meet Aimee too as I look up to her for her Acro skills.

What are your future plans?

When I am Older I would love to go to Dance College in the UK and tour the world with Riverdance.
