What it’s like to be a Dance World Ambassador
Hannah, Rachel and Niamh have been the most wonderful ambassadors we could have wished for. The entire Dance World team wishes them all the luck in the world and we hope to work with them again in the future. While we are very sad to be saying goodbye to our fantastic brand ambassadors from 2019, we are excited to find some new ambassadors for 2020. If you’re thinking of applying, here are some of the highlights future ambassadors can look forward to.
Have you enjoyed being a Dance World ambassador?
Hannah:I have loved being a dance world ambassador for the year! It was the quickest year ever.
Niamh:Yes, it’s been such a great year. A huge thank you to the entire Dance World team!
Rachel:I have enjoyed every minute of it!
What did you like about the ambassador programme?
Hannah:I enjoyed working with the dance world team within photoshoots and also being able to chat with them about anything. I also enjoyed teaching online through Instagram!!
Niamh:There was lots I loved about the experience. Having the opportunity to try out new products in the studio & give feedback/let other dancers know about them was great. Being part of the online community & platform, reaching out to so many dancers was especially great during Covid with the live classes. Dance World brought together so many dancers at home & lifted people’s spirits. It was special to be a part of.
I loved working with the Dance World team and with Hannah & Rachel. We worked well together and had so much fun in whatever we were doing. The support & encouragement throughout the whole year, even in aspects that weren’t related to Dance World was lovely. Everyone at Dance World was also so open to any ideas or feedback we gave. We were encouraged to have our input and feel truly involved. I enjoyed giving an insight to other young dancers of ‘company life’ & ‘audition tips’ through lives and blogs. This was something I would have loved to have heard/read about when I was younger so I was delighted with the opportunity to speak about this.
Rachel:I really have enjoyed every minute of this year! Especially getting to meet and work with the the DW team, Niamh & Hannah.
What stood out to you as the best part?
Hannah:My favourite moment was shooting with Rachel, Niamh, Gosia and Brenda! I also loved teaching on Instagram!
Niamh:Live Classes – although they weren’t originally planned as part of being an ambassador I loved the sense of community they created during Covid. Giveaways & discount codes were great too. Dance World was so generous & hosted so many competitions and giveaways, which people loved. As ambassadors, we got products for free to advertise so it was great for our followers to have the opportunity to win some great products through us also. I also loved the photoshoots in different locations & the photos we received.
Rachel:My favourite thing about the programme was being involved and part of such an inspiring group of people who constantly build each other up and encourage one another.
What opportunities did you feel the programme gave you?
Hannah:It gave me the chance to show the art form I absolutely love and spread knowledge of what I have learnt so far.
Niamh:The opportunity to show my journey and work through social media, blog interviews, and photoshoots. Hopefully, I encouraged and inspired young Irish dancers. It also really helped to grow my online platform and reputation. I now have some beautiful photos for social media and a year’s worth of great dancewear. I also had the chance to connect with other dancers and people within the industry at events & in-store. That started from the very first ambassador interview with all the other candidates, we are all still in touch through social media.
Rachel:Being a part of this programme gave me the opportunity to connect with others that I may not necessarily have crossed paths with as we have different background. I felt very proud throughout the whole experience as Dance World has been a part of my world since I was 4. I got my first pair of ballet shoes there! I’m very appreciative of the opportunity.
What is the best thing you were sent in an ambassador pack?
Hannah:Ohhhhhh so hard to choose!!! Non Posso Ho Danca Sweatpants, Mondor Leggings and So Danca Crop top!!
Niamh:This is a hard question! All of the products were gorgeous. I think my favourite pack had to be the beautiful So Danca Sara Mearns leotard & NPHD Warm-up suit. I also wear the Mondor leggings so often, they are so comfortable and stretchy!
Rachel:The best thing I received in a package is hard to pick but I use my Bloch Bag most days. I love it!
Would you encourage others to apply for the programme?
Hannah:I definitely would. It has so many benefits along with meeting such beautiful souls!
Niamh:Yes absolutely, it’s a great experience that you will gain so much from.
Rachel:Yes! I have already advised others to apply; Boys and Girls!
What advice would you give to any dancer thinking of applying to the ambassador programme?
Hannah:Be yourself completely and show what you love.
Niamh:Go for it! You will have such a great year & get so much out of it. Be yourself, think about what you can bring to the team from your experiences & what makes you different. Be creative and happy to be involved in new projects and ideas. Also, get comfortable using social media and posting frequently.
Rachel:The advice I would give is to be yourself and enjoy the whole experience. Pick whichever style of dance that makes you feel your best and most confident. Don’t be swayed into changing it because you think they are looking for one style only! If you are confident in what you do it will shine through no matter what.
