NOISE Moves Youth Dance Festival
NOISE Moves is a youth dance festival held annually in the spring at The Civic and Rua Red. It is open to dance performers ages 13-25 to showcase different genres of dance. Initiated in 2010, NOISE Moves offers a professional venue and resources to local and regional dance groups to connect the youth dance community. NOISE Moves is part of NOISE Dublin, South Dublin County Council’s Youth Arts programme.
EMERGENCE Young Choreographers Programme
EMERGENCE aims to increase the participation of young people in creating and developing their own dance works. Young aspiring choreographers are placed in a professional mentoring programme to develop a dance piece for performance. This year participants are being guided by John Scott, Artistic Director of Irish Modern Dance Theatre, Lucia Kickham, Independent Dance Artist, and Jessie Keenan, Independent Dance Artist.
NOISE Movers Virtual Youth Dance Company
Young dancers from across the country are gathering to create a dance work via Zoom® for the 2021 NOISE Moves Youth Dance Festival. The group is led by dance artists Carla Fazio and Olwyn Lyons. Carla and Olwyn are also being mentored by American Dance Artists Larry Keigwin and Taryn Vander Hoop, specialists in the field of using Zoom® for Choreography. Musician Domhnaill Corrigan is working with the young dancers to compose a soundtrack for the created work. The work is grounded in the voice of the dancers exploring new ways of non-verbal communication during the COVID pandemic
Youth Dance Film Night!
A series of youth dance films that will take the place of the festival’s Main Stage Performance. This will include the work of NOISE Movers.
